Pontianak September 21, 2022, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Tanjungpura , held the 1st International Conference on Applied Science, Social Innovation and Technology (ICONAST) 2022. The ICONAST conference were held hybridly. This event collaborated with the Association of Indonesian Political Science Study Programs (APSIPOL), Indonesian International Relations Association (AIHII), Dayak International Organization, E-Governance and Sustainability Institute. In addition, from Masters in International Relations, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Dr Soetomo, Universiti Teknologi Mara, University of Bradford, Indiana University Bloomington, and Indonesian City Diplomacy Academic Community (ICDAC). This conference also presented a keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, as the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, represented by Ir Aris Darmansyah Edisaputra, as the Deputy for Coordination of Education Quality Improvement and Religious Moderation.
There were also expert speakers, including Jeffrey Gapari Kitingan, Deputy Chief Minister II of Sabah Malaysia, who was represented by Atama Katama, Sabah Malaysia’s Head of International Relations. Ashley Enrici has been named the McKinney Family Fellow of Environmental Resilience and Philanthropy as an Assistant Professor of Philanthropic Studies. Prof. Eko Priyo Purnomo, as Director of the Institute of E-Governance and Sustainability.

ICONAST aims to be a forum to discuss important issues, related to social and technological innovation with themes. Namely, human development and culture, social welfare, innovation and transformation, social, politics and law, economy and business, maritime and environment, and general issues.
The conference invited various speakers from professionals and academics, both from within and from abroad. This activity was opened with a welcoming speech delivered by Dr. Elyta, as the chairman of the committee. Then continued with the main speech from Prof. Dr. Garuda Wiko, as the Chancellor of Tanjungpura University. Participants who have submitted their articles to be presented in this international conference, come from within and outside the country, at various universities. Also participating were nearly 300 participants who attended in person (offline) and more than 800 other participants attended through Zoom Meetings (online).
Through this activity, it is hoped that it can become a platform for participants to disseminate research results, become a means for useful scientific and technological contributions, to solve problems that exist in society. In addition, increasing lecturer publications and attracting master and doctoral program students, to be familiar with international publications, as well as exploring various relevant social and technological innovation issues.
